Mothers Day

Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and do not forsake your mother's teaching; indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head, and ornaments about your neck.Proverbs 1 vs8 to 9
Happy Mothers Day to all you lovely mummies : )

I was sitting on the couch on Sunday evening nursing my baby girl(15 months now) before she goes to bed. The older 2 were already in bed and all was quiet. I had time to ponder and think, a rare event indeed! I felt so blessed to be given the privilege of raising 3 beautiful and unique children. God has given me one of the hardest yet rewarding jobs and I feel honoured. As a home school mum I truly believe this is my calling, to raise and educate my children, to train up my children in the way they should go and when they are old they will not part from it, proverbs 22 vs 6. It is my promise from God I claim over their lives and I pray each day that he will guide me and my decisions I make for them daily.

I had a lovely weekend and it all began on Saturday morning, my sister and I put on a lavish brekky for my mum and we had this on my sisters veranda. It was lovely to have some time out and enjoy some quality time eating and chatting with 2 of my best friends. I love that my own mother is not only a mum to me but is also my friend, she encourages and inspires me in my journey as a mother.

I think one of the things I am learning along the way is to "embrace each season". Don't be impatient waiting for the next thing to happen that is going to make your life "easier" otherwise you miss out on all the joy that stage can bring you. For example who knows early morning wakings can be a challenge??? Well I try and look on the bright side when this does happen(thankfully yes its not everyday) but that special time my daughter and I get to cuddle up and nurse on the couch when its so quiet.

Saturday evening, spoilt again! My mum and sister had the children for the evening so my husband and I could go on a date. We went out for dinner and a movie. My husband actually surprised me during dinner with my 30th birthday and our 10 year anniversary present, a solid gold bangle engraved with a heart warming message on the inside! He had bought it already and didn't want to hold onto it any longer even tho my birthday is not for another 2 months and our anniversary 3 months away! It was a beautiful night, so nice to relax and talk without interruption.

Sunday we picked up the kids and attended the Mothers Day service at our church which was lovely and each mum was made to feel very special.

The beautiful babushka dolls we received.

The gorgeous colouring in my daughter did for me at Kids church!

The whole day I did not change a nappy, touch the housework or lift a finger all I can say is I am totally blessed  xx
